UFC 168 results: Weidman breaks Silva’s Leg

· December 29, 2013

In devastating fashion Chris Weidman defended the UFC middle weight ti*tle against future” hall of famer” Anderson Silva. The first round was very much like the last fight. Weidman was controlling the clinch and on the ground holding the top position.  Weidman was so close to finishing Silva, when he delivered a crushing right hook in the clinch that dropped Silva but he was able to recover and make it to the second round.

The second round ended quickly after trading a few exchanges. Silva went to trow an inside leg kick but the “all american” was quick enough to block the kick with his knee, breaking Silvas leg above the ankle. This is not the first time this type of injury has happened in the UFC octagon.

The rematch was anticlimactic but it proved that the first fight was no fluke and that Weidman is the real deal with an undefeated record of  11-0. Silva is 38 years old and might not be able to come back after recovering. Only time will tell if we will ever see “the spider” back in the cage.

This fight didn’t prove anything except that Silva broke his leg. Dude didn’t even try in the first fight and got caught

    • Joe

Silva threw a kick, weidman timed the block.

      it was brilliant.

I wouldn’t go as far as calling it “brilliant”..LMAO! It’s not like Weidman did anything that was impossible. He blocked a kick!!! It happens everyday!! Silva is indeed done though!

end of an era. Silva should have never been messin round in the first fight maybe his legacy would have ended on a better note. Funny how such a tiny thing like hubris can fuck someone whole game game up.

Hell yea it started with that fight. Now I’m starting to doubt dude. I thought he would easily retire undefeated but now Idk. This the first time I’ve ever had doubt with this dude.
