Online Blackjack – Best Strategies

Blackjack has the lowest house edge over the player compared to all other online casino games, which makes it the most player-friendly gambling game in the world. However, you do have to understand the game and know what you are doing if you want to win. There are a lot of rules and strategies that a lot of people do not know. Players who make a lot of bad choices when playing Blackjack can get a House Edge of about 3%, while experienced players with proper strategies have a House Edge under 1%.

Like poker, Blackjack is also a game of skill. If you are a new player with very little experience in gambling, we suggest that you check out some of our best strategies for winning in Blackjack.

Always double down on a hard 11

Statistically, you will always win more money if you just double down on every hard 11 against any dealer’s upcard when compared to hitting in all games. If you are playing a multi-deck game where there is a rule where the dealer must stand on a soft 17, you have slightly better chances to hit an Ace against the dealer rather than doubling down.

Always split a pair of Aces and 8s

You should always split a pair of Aces and 8s regardless of what the dealer’s upcard is. A lot of players do not split with a pair of 8s when a dealer’s upcard is a 10 or an Ace. They think that because they are an underdog in the situation, why should they bet more money by splitting? What most people do not understand is that you are much less of an underdog by playing two hands by splitting, than you are by playing one hand of 16 ( and hitting). In other words, you will lose considerably less money in the long run if you split your 8s against a 10 or an Ace than by hitting hard 16. Always splitting Aces and 8s is your best strategy because in the case of 8s it will allow you to cut your losses or win more money and for Aces, it results in significant gains for the player.

Never split a pair of Tens or 5s

Two 5s is also a hard 10 and you will be better off taking one or more card draws to a 10 than splitting your 5s and playing two hands, each starting with a 5. You should also never split your 10s since keeping them together as a 20 is a much smarter play in almost all circumstances.

Always hit a hard 12 against a dealer’s 3 or 4 upcard

This is a common situation where a lot of players chicken out and stand on their 12 because they fear a bust. If you keep standing against a dealer’s 2 or 3 upcards, you will always lose more money in the long run, however, you will lose a lot less money if you continue hitting. This is probably the best strategy you should use throughout a Blackjack game.
