Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mercedes witnessed a plethora of multi-cultural fashion and curated style. The Bay Area being the melting pot that it is, Mercedes was influenced by fashion, music and creative culture at a young age. Starting off her career after graduating college at UC Santa Barbara, she moved to NYC and began her career in the fashion industry at the offices of Ralph Lauren. After 8 months of braving the Big Apple, she couldn’t shake her west coast roots and headed back to Cali. Shortly thereafter, she attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco where she acquired a degree in Visual Merchandising.
Now with a more laser focus on her career she racked up years of experience in merchandising, editorial and styling. She started Beyond Her Reality as a creative outlet to showcase her own take on street style and escape her 9 to 5 routine. Constantly pursuing the latest trends that cater to her figure, it is her hope that Beyond Her Reality serves as an inspiration for women who are in search of stylish options at a reasonable price point with a little curve appeal. Mercedes is now a freelance merchandiser, stylist and creative director of Beyond Her Reality.
