Rookie running back Tevin Coleman will get the start for the Atlanta Falcons in Sunday’s season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to the Associated Press, head coach Dan Quinn tabbed Coleman as the team’s starter over Devonta Freeman, who has missed the entire preseason due to a hamstring injury.
While Coleman has battled a hamstring injury of his own, he managed to play in the team’s final two preseason games. Coleman had an impressive preseason finale, rushing for 56 yards on eight carries against the Baltimore Ravens.
Coleman was a third round pick by Atlanta in this year’s NFL Draft.
