According to CNN, Rachel Jeantel — the friend Trayvon Martin was speaking to on the phone before he was killed—is a star (witness, at least). When asked by George Zimmerman’s defense if Trayvon could have been lying about his location, she answered:

That’s real retarded, sir. That’s real retarded to do that, sir. Why on earth—? Trayvon did not know [Zimmerman].

Star witness, indeed.

Unrelated: This week Rachel tweeted (and deleted) a picture of her “court nails.”

That’s a stupid question? To ask if Martin wasn’t telling the truth about where he was on the phone? How many times have you heard this:

“Sorry boss, this traffic is awful. I’ll be there as soon as I can.”

you know there has been a lot of negative press attention on her, because of the way she looks and articulates herself. Her point stands, it’s pretty fucking stupid to think Trayvon would lie about where he was snd his intentions to the friend he was talking to because he was scared. So what she articulated in a less than perfect grammatical way she’s still 100% better than the lawyer who insinuates we can not trust anything Trayvon said to her prior to his murder because hey he could of been lying. That, sir is real retarded.

I don’t see her as coming off as bad or dishonest at all. I think she’s seemed firmly truthful and stood up well to that patronizing douche. I can see a female jury being sympathetic to her age as well as her obvious real-ness. She’s a kid and a victim in this too.

Its too early but I think they’re setting to let that b1tch nigga off. They just had a mistrial in the case of 7 year yr old Ayana Jones killer who was a Detroit cop that shot her dead during a raid inn the east side. How they’d do that?

@MOOR yeah man its sad i was just saying the other day, that these n.ggaz gone fcuk around and get this KRACKA OFF

I’ve got three years of law school and several years of practice under my belt and I have no idea how that question would be relevant. Sure, you could try to place Martin at another location, but what do you gain? Really trying to understand his strategy. On another point, using the R-word, while getting the point across, is very inappropriate

the location thats important is where he got murdered at…if he lie to a girl on the phone about his location, what does that have to do with the question of why he was murdered.

Five out of six whites on the jury is a huge mistake. I cannot believe the DA let that happen. The OJ case was over the moment they chose the jury. I hope that does not happen here.
