There’s is no question Bishop I. V. Billiard has built a religious empire at New Light Church in Houston. There are thousands of members with 6 locations including one in Austin.

This is the controversy that’s sparking heated debates on social media. It’s a news letter by Bishop Billiard sent to some members of New Light.

It tells members of the flock they would like to raise $50,000 to replace the blades on the church’s helicopter. The letter goes on to tell those who donate $52 each will receive a blessing from God. The letter from Billiard indicates if you donate they could received the transportation mode or car of their choice from God…That blessing would arrive in either 52 days or 52 weeks.

We spoke to this Houston couple who briefly attended New Light – they differ on the issue of donating to replace the blades on the helicopter.

Michelle says, “there are people out there who need that $50 for something else and transportation maybe he can get a company to donate it.”

By the way, we’re concealing their identi*ies because they still have ties to New Light.

Roger says, “yeah I think it’s a good idea if that’s what it needs.”

If you didn’t know according to this newsletter New Light and Bishop Billiard actually have an aviation department at the church. Members say it’s used to fly the Bishop and staff to multiple churches during Sunday services. After all there are six different locations.

Bishop Billiard’s office responded to our request for a comment on this matter and they issued this statement:

New Light Church World Outreach and Worship Centers, Inc. regularly make appeals to Special Partners, Members and friends of the church for the support of various programs and services. Occasionally, it is not uncommon for an appeal to be directed toward specific Kingdom projects or specific needs. In this instance, the appeal was directed to our Special Partners and friends who are familiar with the Biblical principles upon which we base our faith. We sincerely regret if anyone was offended by this appeal in that it was not our intent.

Jesus and God arenot real…an be4 nigs try ta go in send me proof Jesus and God are real..they can find egyptians born be4 crist but cant find any proof about Jesus smh

    • Greg4422

That doesn’t prove God isn’t just questions the story of Jesus. Yes we know religion started before the creation of the Bible…in fact Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are all loosely borrowed from ideology from Ancient Kemet…they took our story and made it more appealing for them…because they didn’t want to pray to a Grand Architect Of The Universe that is black.

But, the idea that mankind evolved from a gaseous cloud is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard….no where in the history of time…has something ever evolved from nothing…which is what you evolution people want us to believe.

      • Truthteller

I never said I think mankind was jus made from a cloud but its jus as believable some “God in heaven”mad man lols…I jus dont get how people can believe sumthin wit no proif its exist…smh

        • Greg4422

I never said some God in heaven made man… I said “The Grand Architect Of The Universe” (the Creator that people call God) was black.

There is proof, you are the proof… with simple math I can prove to you mankind was created… follow me… men and women have sex an thereby “multiply.” So if we reverse this cycle, and subtract every person ever born one by one..eventually you’d get to 2…subtract 1 and you have just 1 Now ask yourself where did the 1 come from (remember he didn’t just evolved from nothing…lol)

    • presto 2.5

you shouldn’t believe any history then…cause every history book is jus a recollection of prior events…many artifacts have been found that backs up “The story of Jesus”…jus as the artifacts found on the Egyptians ancestors…

you believe in one told history…but disavow the others?…now that’s something to scratch ya damn head about….

jus say…”Man I don’t kno what to believe?”

      • 1luv

Exactly, so if you don’t believe in God nor a after life, what do you believe in. We live like any other animals and die and that’s it? No, there has to be more out there then this life that we live.

Pretty much. No one ever gets past my “..but you do know you worship the god of your conquers? Why?”

They can’t even side step it because it makes 0 sense. Blacks are the last ppl on earth that should have a faith yet they rank #1 in America.

      • presto 2.5

        nah…whats funny is that…

all the shyt you talk…you still believe they are YOUR “conquer”

they have never been or will be our CONQUERS…

a boy that laughs at the concept of religion…but screams…”My right hand to Allah”…lol

        FOH…you contradictory fool

        • 1luv

Ha I think Moor is atheist. Presto, what is your religion?

          • MoorDetroitRed

N1gga we in their land speaking their language under their laws, their monetary system being taught their history and don’t know ours! Native Americans have been conquered. We, the Africans have been conquered!

I’m trying to remain respectful but @Prest you are oblivious. Open yours eyes man!

  • Cakes(what we doin’)

Wow theyre promising cars and “blessings” in certain amounts of days SCAM or evil. witches and psychics also promise these things if you send them money to cast spells(money, love, health etc.) for you..

  • Greg4422

I think he should pray on it, not ask his congregation , if he really needs those helicopter blades God will make a way…all he needs is faith as small as a mustard seed.

  • jamarxyz

it’s amazin what people fall for.

  • 4xtra

what makes this a travesty is the fact that these churches are tax exempt.
They are considering REVOKING the tax exempt status for churches.
In atlanta the church is a HUSTLE and they are getting away with murder hustling these “tithes”.from people.

    • 1luv

America made with Christianity, I beg the differ that they would do that but have the IRS monitor who is really in charge.
