There’s been a lot of talk of what Jay-Z has done and while many continue to complain about what the rapper/entrepreneur has done there are very few to give credit where credit is due. Recently Mayor Bloomberg saluted for everything Mr.Carter has done and what he embodies.
Only one of seven Jay finds himself of Times latest cover of Most Influential People In The World issue. The mayor himself Michael Bloomberg  who has been in office since 2002 feels like Jay-Z represents what the New York really is:

“Jay-Z embodies so much of what makes New York New York,” Bloomberg opened, toasting Jigga’s rise from Marcy Housing Projects in Brooklyn. “When no one would sign him to a record contract, he created his own label and built a music empire — before going on to design clothing lines, open sports bars and, most recently, represent professional athletes.”

Hov is no stranger to the list after he found himself featured in the 2005 issue as part of the  “Builders and ti*ans”  beside Steve Jobs and Rupert Murdoch.

What is your take on all of Jay’s accomplishments over the years & do you feel too many take the time to nitpick the wrongs instead of all the good?

  • The Man

this n!gga married the right chick. that’s what happened. he already had accomplishments and money on his own merits but this dude married beyonce (america’s black sweetheart) and attained political power.

you can credit it to him making good choices.

  • Mister Mister

He’s a smart man, makes smart & calculated moves. Gotta respect it. I see him no differently than I see the other black men of power & influence but do so in the background. Like the R. Donahue Peebles & the Quintin Primos of the world

  • Deuce Deuce

jay z has lost alotta battles bt won alotta wars wit his business moves

    • MoorMilitia

Dumb n1ggas would say that . Real n1ggas would ask the hard questions; like how Jay the Coon feels about the treatment of blacks since Bloomberg took office specifically “Stop & Frisk” program that only targets blacks? Its a fact that black’s are worse off in the city of NY since Bloomberg but hey, let’s not let the facts get in the way. GO Jay Z!!!!

To quote the famous Buzz Lightyear, ” To infinity & beyond”. From Marcy to beyond MSG. The run that this man is on is unprecedented from a hip hop artist perspective. I believed him then, & I believe him even more now when he said “y’all can BS wit rap all you want”. I admire any great success story, but it touches me even more to see a black success story. It was also reported today that him & his spouse are now hip hops’ first billionaire couple. This man has put in major work & is nothing short of the epitome of patience & persistence. Much continued success Mr. Carter & Miss Carter as well.
