There’s been a lot of talk of what Jay-Z has done and while many continue to complain about what the rapper/entrepreneur has done there are very few to give credit where credit is due. Recently Mayor Bloomberg saluted for everything Mr.Carter has done and what he embodies.
Only one of seven Jay finds himself of Times latest cover of Most Influential People In The World issue. The mayor himself Michael Bloomberg who has been in office since 2002 feels like Jay-Z represents what the New York really is:
“Jay-Z embodies so much of what makes New York New York,” Bloomberg opened, toasting Jigga’s rise from Marcy Housing Projects in Brooklyn. “When no one would sign him to a record contract, he created his own label and built a music empire — before going on to design clothing lines, open sports bars and, most recently, represent professional athletes.”
Hov is no stranger to the list after he found himself featured in the 2005 issue as part of the “Builders and ti*ans” beside Steve Jobs and Rupert Murdoch.
What is your take on all of Jay’s accomplishments over the years & do you feel too many take the time to nitpick the wrongs instead of all the good?
