Gucci Mane Sentenced To A Year in Prison

· November 12, 2009

Gucci Mane was sentenced to 12 months in prison on Thursday (November 12) for probation violation and taken away to prison in handcuffs, according to a rep from his label.

The sentence is a blow to Gucci’s career. The ATL rapper has a album coming out — The State Vs. Radrick Davis — on December 8 and is arguably at the height of his career; in terms of his sentence, he may be out of prison in six months. Last September, Gucci went to jail and served until March; he was sentenced to a year in prison for failing to fulfill his court-ordered 600 hours of community service, which had been mandated in 2005. UPDATE: According to Gucci’s mom who he recently started talking to again along with his brother after they all fell out said he will be home in May. Gucci’s mom was telling him he needs to talk about whats been happening in his personal life and with the Jeezy situation to get it off his chest that’s what sparked “Worst Enemy”.

What a dumb ass. He got everything going well for him and now he’s going in prison? It’s a blow to his career, but maybe a good thing for Hip Hop. Regardless hopefully he learns from this and makes the best out of this situation.

OK, once again I have to be the voice of reason here…Gucci Mane is not a hot rapper. All his songs sound like nursery rhymes to me, but if you guys think he is an above average rapper than that’s your opinion and you are entitled to it. Above everything else we don’t need anymore black men going to jail over stupid incidents like this. I hope he gets his life in order. He didn’t necessarily do another crime to land him back in jail, but he did violate his community service so his neglect will endure consequences. The justice system is just looking for a rapper to lock up. First, of all those crackers don’t want you to have that kind of money that rappers make anyway so the first time you fuck it up and get caught in the system they are going to make an example out of you. It has been proven time and time again that they are watching you. Example, the Lil’ Wayne incident with him gettnig pulled over in NY for no apparent reason by the cops. You think they would have pulled over any of these pop stars. Rappers have been targeted, but at the same time they are giving them reasons to be targeted because it never fails whenever they pull someone over they always find something illegal. Snoop Dogg, Lil’ Wayne, etc…….

  • SheHadIt

Hip-Hop Police attacking again..damn..but these niggz need to stop giving them reason to lock us up..i dream of the day..black people will strive for higher standards..i probably won’t see it but i dream of it..

  • bangone

he’s not going to prison. he’s going to jail and will do 2 for 1 and be out in six months. this isn’t something that happened recently, he violated probation months ago.

  • Smith

Ok, so it seems the plan is become a popular rapper and then go to jail for stupid reasons.
