Futuristic Highways In The Netherlands Glow In Dark

This would be convenient after a night of drinks in the club with a long ride home. While America is still stuck in the 20th century with crumbling roads and weakened bridges, Europe seems to be moving ahead. The Netherlands is really charging full steam forward into the future with ambitious plans for a futuristic highway system that glows in the dark.

The highway uses special paint that takes in energy during daylight hours, and disperses it at night to illuminate road markings. Even small LED lights on the shoulder have pinwheels to recycle wind energy from passing cars.
