An amateur football match in Brazil led to two murders as a referee was beheaded by spectators after he had stabbed a player.

The shocking incidents occurred in Maranhao, Brazil, last Sunday. According to reports, referee Otavio Jordao da Silva fatally stabbed footballer Josenir dos Santos Abreu.

Dos Santos Abreu is believed to have struck the referee after questioning a decision. In retaliation, Jordao da Silva fatally stabbed the player.

Having witnessed the incident, an outraged group of spectators turned on the referee. He was tied up, beaten, stoned and quartered. They then put his head on a stake and planted it in the middle of the pitch.

One man, Luiz Moraes de Souza, 27, has been arrested over the incident. Police are searching for two more suspects.

Valter Costa is handling the case and, in a statement, he said: “One crime never justifies another crime. Actions likes this do not collaborate with the legality of state law.”

What’s left of the ref…click at your own risk.

Brazil is hood like that. Their crime rate is thru the freakin roof.

    • and you guys were mentioning Rio as our field trip a while ago lmao

I expect them to carry machetes like some Africans living in the countryside do to there terrain.

Well that’s one way of the community coming together to solve the problem. Depends on how you look at the situation to call it murder. Taking matters into your own hands on someone that you saw kill your flesh and blood or kin is considered murder in the eyes of the law. As a relative of the victim, in there eyes killing the murderer is justice.

Ether way, the ref got hacked up like pretty bad. Can’t say I feel sorry for him.

Yeah they did him pretty bad. I rule out all places to vacation where it’s common for the natives to put heads on stakes, I don’t care how many bad beaches they got.

they probably took a lot of years of poverty and frustration out on this guy…he found the right crowd.

Beaten stone and goodness talk about overkill, whoever put the head on the stake is a sicko they enjoyed that a little too much smh

  • Conservative Mark

Looking at the brighter side, that will be the last bad call he ever makes.

Soccer games overseas have always been dangerous. This guy just caught a bad deal.

no knives were needed for this. Look at where the aputations occurred. The wounds are very ragged and show lots of loose material and flesh. In a mob situation such as this, when many hands are on one person, twisting motions usually result. People plan to break a limb by say twisting the foot. However, when 10 people are all doing this to the same foot, it breaks easily, usually dislocating the lower leg at the knee. If the limb is then further spun around and around after this, the destroyed joint will simply pinch off. This looks like what has occurred here on both knees, both elbows, and the neck.
