7 years in prison over $2 subway fare

A man that allegedly skipped out on paying a $2.25 subway fare was sentenced to 7 years in prison.

According to a report from the New York Post, a Manhattan man was sentenced on Monday to seven years in prison after after cops stopped him for “fare-beating.”

During his arrest, officers discovered he was carrying an illegal handgun.

According to the report, Ruben Sanabria, 37, was caught with a loaded .40-caliber handgun on March 30. Two cops grabbed him after he hopped over a turnstile and found the weapon in his waistband.

Sanabria pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

    Another bullsh1t story where lies were told in order to grab attention. $2 is petty theft and misdemeanor at best. He’s behind bars because he’s a felon in possession of a firearm which is a real no-no in the Nazi police state others call NY.

    The title of this post is misleading. In reality, a man was sentencrd to 7 years for possession of a ln illegal firearm in nyc.

    While the tittle is misleading it is not surprising in journalism. The tittle is not entirely wrong. The meaning of the tittle is that if he would have paid the $2.25 is it HIGHLY unlikely he would have been caught with the handgun.
