24k Gold strip club offered drugs, sex

An Atlanta strip club remains open after 19 employees were arrested on drug and prostitution charges last week.Atlanta Police raided the 24K Gold Club on Cheshire Bridge Road early Saturday morning and arrested 29, including 10 customers.

“As of right now the 24K can operate as business as usual, including selling liquor,”

Atlanta Police spokesman Otis Redmond said Thursday.

Reached twice, a manager of the club said he did not want to comment.

Police reports released to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution show that employees and others at the nude dancing club offered cocaine, marijuana and prostitution.

During a five-month investigation, undercover officers bought drugs and witnessed prostitution, according to the report. After five months, police obtained a search warrant and 43 arrest warrants.

On Saturday dozens of police stormed the club. They allowed the majority of the customers to leave and then began searching the club.

They booked general manager Greg Stergion, a floor manager, a bartender and 16 dancers into the Fulton County jail, according to the report.

Floor manager Wayne Coker was arrested after officers found 23.4 grams of packaged marijuana on the floor between him and customer Antoine Tuner, the report states.

They found more bags of marijuana and cocaine on the bar, under tables and in the VIP rooms. Another bag of marijuana was tucked in a dancer’s bra, police said.

They also found illegal pills in two dancers’ purses, the report states.

Sixteen of the 20 dancers did not have permits, according to the report. Several of the dancers told police that management told them they didn’t need permits.

City law requires every adult entertainer to obtain a permit every year. Dancers must have those permits, which cost $350, in their possession at the club.

The bartender, Stephanie Moore, also didn’t have a permit to sell alcohol, police said.

“This investigation showed a blatant disregard for the law of both managers to allow the female dancers to provide nude entertainment without a permit,” Investigator B.D. Burns wrote in a report. “Management failed to collect, maintain or require employees to hold a current permit.”

Police said they also found a 19-year-old, who tested positive for alcohol, with a drink in his hand in the VIP room. He also gave police a fake ID.

Two dancers also had outstanding warrants for theft and failure to appear, according to the report.

Police said they allowed the dancers to get dressed before taking them to jail.

Officers seized marijuana, cocaine, pills, used condoms, cash and a stolen car from the club.

City records show 24K also had legal trouble in 2006 when they raided for selling alcohol to minors.

In October 2006, the Atlanta License Review Board found the club guilty of selling alcohol to minors, staying open too late and allowing an underage person to enter the club, according to license review board records.

The board voted to suspend the club’s liquor license for six months.

On Thursday, the club’s website said they were hiring and offer permit assistance. href="http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta/police-strip-club-offered-170255.html?imw=Y"> Source

I know a lot of clubs are shook about this bust cause its a depression and women selling what they gotta sell to make up for the lack of customers.
