With the All Star weekend all wrapped up, Houston Police department have also ended a kidnapping case that took place 8 years ago involving then 8 month Miguel Morin who is now 8 years old. Jury was in session for over two hours before deciding that Krystle Tanner and her mother Gloria Walker guilty. The incident took place in 2004 when Morin disappeared. During the trial both the mother and daughter testified clamining innocence and that the child had been given to them by Morin’s mother but neither one’s story matched as they each contradicted each other denying any form of abusive treatment to the child.
“I didn’t do nothing wrong,” said a tearful Walker. She also told jurors she had very little contact with the boy, saying she was focused more on dealing with various health problems. While her mother admitted to asking Tanner to babysit the child on a numerous occasions.
The two pleaded with the jurors to give them probation saying that they had no knowledge of police searching for him instead of jail time but obviously that didn’t happen. Walker was found guilty of injury to the child wile Tanner received a lesser charge of reckless injury. Walker is looking at life in prison and her daughter up to 20 years.
