2 children, 3 others die in Camp Creek Pkwy. crash

At least two children, including an infant, were among five people killed in a multiple-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in south Fulton County.
A sixth victim was in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital after what police believe was a hit-and-run accident.
The accident happened about 1:45 p.m. when a Mercedes crossed the median on Camp Creek Parkway between Butner Road and Old Fairburn Road, near the Piedmont Driving Club Golf Course, Fulton County police said.
The Mercedes hit a Volkswagen head-on, then struck other vehicles before catching fire, police spokeswoman Detective Melissa Parker said.
Four died in the badly burned Mercedes, including the infant and the adult driver. Police have not yet determined whether the other two victims were adults.
The second child fatality was in the Volkswagen. The driver of that vehicle was taken to Grady.

The names of the victims were being withheld until relatives were notified.
Police were looking for the driver of a BMW of unknown color that may have hit the Mercedes and started the chain-reaction crash. The BMW would be damaged on the left side.
“If anyone sees, on any BMW, fresh collision marks, we’re asking them to call,” Parker said. Anyone with information about the accident was asked to call 404-612-5314.
